Camilla Halvarsson and my brother Josef Samuelsson are showing their movie "Amazoner och Foppatofflor" at Gothernburg film festival today. It's sold out, but don't panic, you can see it here as well:

Animation island Concept #1

Updates are spars here now. This is a good sign. Means I'm actually working on stuff. There are plenty of fun going on. One of these fun things are my final animation project for the animation education I'm currently on. This is a piece of concept art for that project.

This little thing is from a recent assignment to try out some camera tracking. A group project. It was tons of fun.

Next up: Kent Agent!

Big news! I'm going to do two picture books this year starring none other than the very popular Swedish detective Kent Agent and his good friend Mr Bister. I love the series and I'm very glad to be part of this project. 

Writers for these books are Kalle Brunelius (Kent) and Nathanael Derwinger (Mr Bister) and it's given out by Pintxo. 

The first book will be released in August so we are still very early in development but I thought I'd share some character sketches.

A looong running family tradition is these silly illustrated Christmas cards I make for my family. Everybody is home for Christmas this year wich is huge for us! We will also celebrate that this is the second time we kids have lederhosen on the Christmas card.  

We also took this years card into the future by placing a QR code on it and showing a short making of video. I'll post it here as well!

Pebble Universe!

 Oh my! Strange things are happening in Pebble Universe. I have the great joy of working on this smartphone and tablet game soon to be released. The game is brought by the fresh studio Itatake and produced by Hello There. Both studios from Gothenburg.

I posted a photo a while back showing a illustration I did for A.FortyThree. Here are some more of them. All in all there will be three big group illustrations and six smaller ones like these. Happy hunting.

Oh no, he's getting rigged!

Frank has gone into the darkest corner of all 3D animation, the rigging. He's hair will have to wait for now. A jungle of joints weights and weird tags await. Makes my hands sweat a little.

Face

Here's a glimpse at Franks fresh head! The mesh is pretty much finished but it still needs some all the textures, eyebrows and a mighty skipper's beard.
